Winning the deal

The customer had buyers remorse for their existing solution because it failed to meet their expectations and requirements. They needed to know that their efforts to start fresh wouldn’t fall victim to the same outcome. I was brought into the sales process to leverage my extensive experience building broker and benefit tools at Paylocity. I proposed solutions that would enable the team to avoid costly mistakes based on what I had previously found to be unsuccessful.

The team swiftly organized an intensive 5 day onsite workshop that helped us uncover necessary requirements. My team made additional onsite arrangements to focus on user experience and run a serious of Lightning Decision Jams (LDJ’s). The customer loved the design workshop and has had us return to uncover requirements for additional feature work following the same process.

Design & Implementation

I partnered with a talented UX designer from my team to both design and develop the front end in parallel to help us meet the tight delivery date.

Outcome

The team successfully delivered the minimum viable product in the time window. We have continued to earn additional business with this client working on feature enhancements as well as another large scale application project.

Customer Quote

“I think that they have done a really good job of not just challenging us to say, “How would this work?” Or “How would you like this to be operationalized?” It’s really thinking more like, how could it can be done, not just how should it be done. Like, let’s think about, you know, the... not just the nice to haves, but let’s, let’s shoot for that and not just say, “Well, this is the, this is the minimum viable and we’re gonna drive to that and the rest is sort of fluff and we’ll think about that later.” It’s really thinking about these are some of the easy things that we can do now, that are gonna pay off exponentially. And, you know, are, are quick wins. And that’s been really refreshing to, to see them, um, think bigger, than just the minimum viable.”
